NEW PARIS - Two Syracuse drivers were injured in a Wednesday morning crash and transported to Fort Wayne hospitals.
Dalton Higgins, 23, Syracuse, was taken by ambulance to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for injuries to his entire body, according to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash news release.
Sherisa Anjanette, 46, Syracuse, was flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for injuries to her entire body.
At approximately 9:09 a.m. Wednesday, Higgins was traveling west in a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse on U.S. 6, east of CR 25, New Paris, when he drove left of center, for unknown reasons, and collided with an eastbound 2023 Kia Sorento, driven by Anjanette.
Due to their injuries, no statements could be collected from the drivers, the release states. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Both vehicles sustained damage to their front ends.
Law enforcement action is pending Elkhart County Crisis Intervention Team’s investigation.
