2 Injured In Milford Crash SaturdayMILFORD - Both drivers in a late Saturday morning crash south of Milford were injured and one had to be flown to a hospital.
The accident occurred at about 11:53 a.m. Saturday on North Ind. 15, approximately 300 feet south of Turkey Creek Drive, Milford, according to the Milford Police Department report.
Dustin Eugene Gordon, 32, Etna Green, suffered a fractured/dislocated lower arm and complained of back pain and was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital. Jonathan Connolly, 28, Nappanee, complained of lower back pain and was airlifted by Lutheran Air Ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
At about 11:53 a.m. Saturday, Kosciusko County Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a vehicle crash on Ind. 15 just south of Milford. The two-vehicle crash involved possible entrapment and a medical helicopter was requested, the report states.
Connolly was still inside his vehicle upon arrival of the investigating Milford officer and he had to be extricated. He had not been wearing a seat belt and was found laying over the console of the vehicle on to the passenger seat.
According to the report, a Chevy Cruze, driven by Gordon, was traveling north on Ind. 15 just south of Milford when, for an unknown reason, the Cruze crossed the center line and hit a Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Connolly. The Cruze then spun around.
A dog, which appeared to have suffered a leg injury, was in the back seat of Connolly’s Jetta.
Damage was estimated at $25,000 to $50,000.
Along with the Milford Police Department, responding agencies included the Milford Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Lutheran Air Ambulance.
