Posted

MENTONE - The 17th annual Rotors Over Mentone will be Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Lawrence D. Bell Aircraft Museum and the Mentone Historical Museum.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum at 210 S. Oak St., Mentone.
Both museums will be open for viewing. American Huey 369 will arrive at 10 a.m. and will be giving Living American History Flight Experiences for a fee after lunch. Food and Igloo ice cream will be available.
The speaker for the program, which begins at 11 a.m., will be Mike Stout of southern Indiana. He will share surviving the crash of the world’s largest aircraft, the Piasecki PA-97 Helistat. This was an experimental heavy lift aircraft. It was destroyed during a test flight. The test pilot was killed and four others were injured, including Stout.
Stout will have copies of his latest book, “Chasing the Four Winds,” for sale and will autograph them.
