ELKHART – The newest corrections (and patrol) officers for the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office will take their oaths on Monday, Aug. 4 and officially begin their service.
The oath of office will be at 4 p.m. in Elkhart Superior Court 2, 315 S. Second St., Elkhart, with the officers accepting the oath from Judge Andrew Hicks.
The new officers are:
• Corrections Officer Erik Alvarez Reyes graduated in May 2025 from Elkhart High School. He started his career on June 16, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Court Security Officer Michael Cleveland graduated in May of 1983 from NorthWood High School. He graduated from Indiana University on May 13, 1997, with a criminal justice degree. He served in the United States Military as well as was employed with the Mishawaka Police Department for 35 years. He started his career on June 23, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Dustin Dilks graduated in June 2024 from Elkhart High School. He started his career on May 19, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Daniel Jaramillo graduated in June 2025 from Elkhart High School. He started his career on July 16, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Patrol Officer Kole Miller graduated in June 2019 from Northridge High School. He started his career as a Corrections Officer on Nov. 27, 2023, and will begin his new career on Aug. 10, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Russell Parish graduated in June 1982 from Concord High School. He graduated from Indiana University at South Bend in May 1990 with a criminal justice major. He started his career on June 16, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Ernesto Pena graduated in May 2025 from Bremen High School. He started her career on June 2, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Alex Perez graduated in June 2024 from Elkhart High School. He started his career on May 27, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Michael Roeder graduated in May 2008 from Mishawaka High School. He started his career on June 2, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Dmitriy Rumatchik graduated in May 2020 from Concord High School. He started his career on May 19, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Patrol Officer Joseph Stein graduated in May 2021 from Marion High School. He started his career on Aug. 4, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Wilfred Tamfu graduated in June 1996 from Progressive Comprehensive High School in Bamenda, Cameroon. He started his career on July 28, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Fred Valle-Anacleto graduated in June 2025 from Wawasee High School. He started his career on July 14, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Alexa Villafuerte graduated in June 2024 from Concord High School. He started his career on July 14, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Brandon Witte graduated in June 2024 from Elkhart High School. He started his career on May 27, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
• Corrections Officer Thomas Wojciechowski graduated in June 2021 from Mishawaka High School. He started his career on March 31, 2025, with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
