12-Year-Old Warsaw Boy Found DeadThe search for a missing Warsaw boy ended Friday with the discovery of his body.
Emergency personnel returned to the area of 12-year-old Ayden Adee’s residence to resume the search initiated Thursday.
“A thorough search grid was established and teams were assigned to designated areas,” according to a news release from Sgt. Chris Francis, public information officer, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
Adee’s body was discovered in a heavily wooded area near the intersection of CRs 350E and 500S at approximately 12:15 p.m. Friday.
At this time, there is no indication that foul play is involved, according to the release.
A statewide Silver Alert had been declared Thursday by the KCSO while they investigated Adee’s disappearance.
Adee was last seen at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Silver Alert said he was “believed to be in danger and may require medical assistance. He may also be in possession of a 0.40 caliber handgun.”
The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the scene Friday.
Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Cirello said the cause of death was unknown as of 3:30 p.m. Friday and any updates would be released through the sheriff’s office. Francis said he will be releasing the cause of death information Saturday.
Assisting in the investigation and search were representatives from fire departments throughout the county, Lutheran EMS, Nappanee Police Department and Indiana Conservation Officers. According to the news release, the KCSO is appreciative of the assistance.
The American Red Cross supplied refreshments and food at the scene, donated by McDonald’s.
No further information was available as of press time Friday night.
