1 Week Before Halloween, Here’s A Reminder Of Event Times

With Halloween a week away, here is a list of planned activities.
Warsaw and Winona Lake will have trick-or-treating Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, there will be a drive-thru Spooktakular downtown Warsaw. The route will begin in the old Owen’s Parking lot, 302 W. Market St.. All trick-or-treaters are asked to remain in their cars at all times.
The Parkview Warsaw YMCA, 1305 Mariners Drive, is hosting a free trunk-or-treat from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31 at their facility. The event will have scavenger hunts, games and prizes. For more information, visit www.kcymca.org.
A Halloween egg hunt at Warvel Park, North Manchester, titled “The Great Pumpkin Hunt,” is Friday at 7 p.m. for toddlers to sixth-graders. Trick-or-treating in North Manchester is 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
Manchester University will offer trick-or-treat on campus again this year for local children.
Monster Mash, presented by the Office of Residential Life, is from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31 on the North Manchester campus mall.
Masks and social distancing are required. The rain date is Nov. 1.
There will be a Mentone Chamber of Commerce costume contest at Mentone Elementary on Oct. 31. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the contest will begin at 7:30 p.m. Trick-or-treating in Mentone will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
A drive-through trick-or-treat at the Syracuse Community Center will be today from 3 to 5 pm. Kids can be in costume and several groups of volunteers from various civic organizations, churches and businesses will be handing out treats to the kids in vehicles. This is in lieu of the usual Halloween events. Trick-or-treat hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
Other area trick-or-treat times are:
• Akron, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m. People can stop by the fall backdrop at the Downtown Park for a quick photo and tag the Akron Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. All pictures will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to a local business of the winner’s choice.
• Bourbon, Oct. 31, 5 to 7 p.m.
• Claypool, Oct. 31, 4:30 to 7 p.m.
• Etna Green, Friday, 5 to 7 p.m.
• Leesburg, Oct. 31, 6 to 7 p.m.
• Nappanee, Oct. 31, 5 to 7 p.m.
• North Webster, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.
• Pierceton, Oct. 31, 5 to 7 p.m.
• Silver Lake, Friday, 6 to 7:30 p.m. People can stop by Memorial Park for refreshments and treat bags.
• Milford, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m. Children are encouraged to stop by the fire department for glow stick and a treat bag.
