SILVER LAKE - One person was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire Monday afternoon.
Silver Lake Fire Department Chief John Conley said the call for the fire at 11417 S. County Farm Road, Silver Lake, came in at approximately 12:19 p.m. Monday.
County records indicate the home owners are Sofia Meyo Carrillo and Leonardo Zaca Nayotl.
One of the homeowners called the fire in, Conley said.
The fire was contained to one room, but there was smoke throughout the house and water damage to an area of the residence. The fire was on the second story of the house.
Firefighters were able to knock the fire out within a half hour.
Claypool Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The American Red Cross was called for the family mainly because of the smoke damage. One of the residents was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation, Conley said.
Damage was estimated at approximately $10,000.
