You know that I love and very much have been a fan of women’s sports.
Last season, the Lakeland Christian boys soccer team won its first ever sectional championship after defeating Argos in the title game. Flash forward to Monday night, and the two sides met again. This time, it was in the opening round of the tournament, and this time, the Dragons got their revenge. Another successful season for the Cougars was cut short as Argos won the defensive battle 1-0.

This morning will be the second of two consecutive Saturdays when I announced a Junior Varsity (JV) football game at Fisher Field. Prior to Saturday morning, September 27, I had not called a JV game since October of 2022.
Coming off of perhaps the team’s most impressive performance of the season against Jimtown last week, the Tippecanoe Valley football team put together an even better one on Friday night. Hosting 3A No. 11 Western, the Vikings were ready from the word go. They blitzed their opponents to the tune of a 28-0 halftime lead and never looked back, making a statement with a 38-7 win.
There was a ton on the line as the Warsaw girls soccer team hosted Northridge for the final home game of the season. A win for the visitors clinched the Northern Lakes Conference outright. A win for the home side allowed for a three-way tie at the top with the Lady Tigers included. The end result would be the former, as the Lady Raiders were able to hold onto a 1-0 win to take the NLC.
Three of the four teams competing at IHSAA boys tennis sectional 61 on Thursday were local teams, turning the semifinal round of the tournament into a display of some of the best tennis players Kosciusko County has to offer. After the day was over, just two teams remained. Warsaw picked up a sweep over Columbia City to advance to Saturday’s championship game, while Wawasee was narrowly able to topple Tippecanoe Valley to set up a rematch of last year’s sectional final.
The Warsaw boys’ and girls’ basketball programs are offering a 5-week youth league on Saturday mornings (1 Sunday) for all students in grades 1-4.
Grace’s volleyball team registered another marquee victory on Wednesday night.
It’s getting to that point where I’ve debated renaming the column to Connor’s College Coverage. It could still keep the Triple C abbreviation while also being more accurate to the material. If you haven’t already guessed it, we’re going back into the world of college football for this week’s introduction.
Warsaw (4-2, 3-1 NLC) at Mishawaka (5-1, 4-0 NLC), Western (5-1) at Tippecanoe Valley (4-2), Northridge (0-6, 0-4 NLC) at Wawasee (1-5, 0-4 NLC), Manchester (4-2, 4-1 TRC) at Whitko (1-5, 0-5 TRC), Caston (2-4, 1-3 HNAC) at Triton (4-2, 3-1 HNAC)
I like to cook on the grill, and I think I am getting better at it.

My thoughts you’re reading here are from a table at P.F. Chang’s in West Des Moines, Iowa. I’m enjoying a Kung Pao chicken late lunch that feels more like Kung Pao celery due to the abundance of the aforementioned labor-intensive (to eat) veggie in my bowl.
With just one win in eight tries against Jimtown all time, the Tippecanoe Valley football team looked to shrink that margin on Friday night as they hosted the Jimmies in a Indiana Northern State Conference game. Despite leaving some points on the board, it was smooth sailing for the Vikings, as they cruised to a 33-0 victory.
A week ago, after the team’s disappointing 38-7 loss to Northern Lakes conference foe Concord spoiled homecoming, Warsaw head coach Bart Curtis was not pleased. He stressed the team needed to improve a lot to be able to bounce back this Friday night against Plymouth. Looking to get back in the win column combined with the fact that the Rockies upset the Tigers at Fisher Field last season, the Tigers answered the call. Scoring the first 28 points of the game, Warsaw picked up a 42-14 road win to remain above .500.
The Grace College athletic department is pleased to announce the newest members of the Lancer Hall of Fame.
Looking to both bounce back after a straight-set loss to Fort Wayne Carroll on Tuesday as well as send the seniors off with a victory on Senior Night, the Warsaw volleyball team looked like a well-oiled machine on Thursday night, using 22 aces to lead the way and cruising to a 3-0 win over Wawasee to remain undefeated in the Northern Lakes Conference.
I’m going to take a bit of a different form for the column this weekend.
Warsaw (3-2, 2-1 NLC) at Plymouth (3-2, 3-0 NLC), Jimtown (1-4, 0-2 INSC) at Tippecanoe Valley (3-2, 1-1 INSC), Wawasee (1-4, 0-3 NLC) at Goshen (1-4, 0-3 NLC), Manchester (3-2, 3-1 TRC) at Southwood (1-4, 1-3 TRC), Whitko (1-4, 0-4 TRC) at Lewis Cass (3-2, 3-1 TRC), Triton (4-1, 3-0 HNAC) at North Judson (4-1, 3-0 HNAC)
The Warsaw volleyball team faced one of its toughest tests of the season on Tuesday night, hosting defending 4A state champion Fort Wayne Carroll. The match was much closer than the final score indicated, as each point was a battle with each side showcasing why both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the state. After three intense sets, the Lady Chargers walked away with a 3-0 win.
Grace’s women’s soccer team ended the nonconference portion of its season with an exclamation point.
The Warsaw girls golf team celebrated its second straight sectional championship trophy on Thursday after winning it at Stonehenge Golf Course in Winona Lake. The Lady Tigers shot a 337 as a …
