There has been a member of the Mevis family handling punting, kickoff and placekicking duties for the Warsaw Tiger football program each football season since 2014. Andrew Mevis first planted his foot in Warsaw turf as a sophomore. His powerful right leg made Tiger football fans accustomed to seeing kickoffs go for touchbacks, long field goals making the difference in close games, and coffin-corner punts that pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line. The 2017 Warsaw Community High School graduate is still handling these duties as a collegiate kicker at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) for Fordham University.

Bart Curtis of Warsaw Community High School has been named the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week, a program presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the Indianapolis Colts announced Wednesday.

Grace’s women’s tennis team found itself in an early hole against Huntington on Wednesday. The Lady Lancers, playing singles first, lost the first set in four of the six singles’ matchups. But after a series of comebacks, Grace wound up winning four of those matches en route to a 5-2 win.

Senior quarterback Tanner Trippiedi ran for two long touchdowns and threw for another, the defense came up big in the fourth quarter as Tippecanoe Valley football team defeated Northfield 28-21 in Three Rivers Conference play Friday night.

Grace’s cross country team began the 2019 season with the unique Manchester Hokum Karem. The meet featured pairs of runners alternating laps with the women running three 1-mile laps and the men completing four 1-mile laps.

Grace’s men’s soccer team battled No. 25 Southeastern on Wednesday, nearly pulling off the upset. The Lancers (1-1-1) endured two overtimes to earn the 1-1 draw. With the clock winding down in the second overtime period, Grace’s potential game winner found the back of the net mere seconds after the final buzzer.
