MARION — Shirley A. Williams, 88, passed away July 6, 2017, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, in the care of the wonderful staff of Peabody’s Memory Support Unit. Shirley was born July 7, 1928, in Goshen, to H. Donald and Jeannette Kostanzer Crisler. Shirley grew up in her family home on Spencer Avenue in Marion. She attended DePauw University, Greencastle, where she was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After graduating, Shirley worked for American Airlines as a flight attendant based out of Dallas, Texas, and then as the teen program director for the Marion YWCA.
Marie Graham passed away peacefully at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, at the age of 99. Ora “Marie” was born in Nappanee on April 10, 1918, to Ray and Grace Johnson Young and was a 1936 graduate of Bourbon High School. She was married and widowed three times: Jesse Fulmer from 1942-1958, Roy Shand from 1969-1981 and Earl Graham from 1989-2005. Marie was an assembler for General Electric, retiring in 1978 after 30 years in their employment. She lived all her years in the larger Warsaw-Fort Wayne communities and was a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community for the past eight years.
Roy F. Bradbury passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, in the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. He was 81. One of five children born to Howard and Hazel Wright Bradbury, Roy was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Atwood. He attended Atwood High School. He and Jean Moore Corson were married Feb. 14, 1992, in Warsaw.
Darrell Grisamer, 83, Syracuse, passed away July 7, 2017, at Goshen Hospital. He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Sturgis, Mich. On July 3, 1976, he married Shirley Grisamer, who preceded him in 2004. He served in the U.S. Army 182nd “Rakasan” Airborne Division during the Korean conflict. He was a lifelong area resident. He retired as a NIPSCO lineman. He was a member of North Webster Church of God. He is survived by his children: Daretta Engh, Greenfield; Drenna (Jerry) Dean, Hawaii; Daralea (Kraig) Kailey, Kokomo; Darren Grisamer, Avon; Tina (Robert) Kocher, Syracuse; Teresa (Dennis) Linville, Mishawaka; and Tony Searfoss, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his companion, Delores Neff, Wakarusa. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Eastlund Funeral Home. SYRACUSE — Kathryn Knisley, 83, Syracuse, passed away July 8, 2017, at Goshen Hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., to Herman and Ruth Sloan Huey. On April 13, 1952, she married Kenneth R. Knisley, who survives. She was a lifetime and emerita member of Lakeland Women's Bowling Association. She had been employed by General Telephone, Wawasee Bowl, Thornburg Drugs, First Federal of Wabash and Pamida.

Kyler, and to this marriage were born her three children: Carole (Mark) Krizon, Fort Wayne; Rachael (Cyrus) Parker, Wilson, N.C.; and Garth (Karen) Kyler, Larwill. On July 7, 1983, Becca was married to James E. Taylor.
NORTH WEBSTER — Dorene L. Kuhn, 61, Cromwell, passed away at 7:17 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. She was born Nov. 13, 1955, in Wabash, to Joann Miller Johnson. She graduated in 1974 from Wabash High School and attended Ancilla College, Donaldson, and nursing school in Kokomo. She moved to the North Webster/Cromwell area in 1980 from Wabash and was married on Sept. 6, 1980, in Wabash, to Danny D. “Dan” Kuhn, who survives. She was employed at Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice as an LPN for 10 years, and worked at Miller’s Merry Manor for 32 years in Warsaw, Wabashand Syracuse.
AKRON — Hugh F. “Pete” Fuller Jr., 56, Claypool, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, at his residence. He was born Nov. 19, 1960, in Marion, to Hugh Franklin and Mary Ann Picco Fuller. He served his country in the U.S. Marines Corps. He was a trophy fisherman for many years. He enjoyed farming and raising hogs and well as working on a dairy farm. He was a man of many interests and talents. He always loved putting others first. Survivors include his companions, Lynn McKinnon, Burket, and Ace the cat; his mother, Mary Ann Fuller, Converse; two sons, Dan and Aaron; two daughters, Crystal and Jacqueline; a brother, Buff (wife Lorinda); a stepbrother; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Franklin Fuller; and a stepbrother. Following Pete’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service is planned. Justin D. Leighty, a 41-year-old Warsaw resident and editor of Elkhart-based Woodall's Campground Management magazine, passed away on the evening of June 27, 2017, from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident on a rural Kansas road. He had gone with his family to help with the wheat harvest at his family farm as he did every year at about this time.

She was born July 30, 1934, in Russiaville, to Carroll and Lydia Bennett Broadley. On Oct. 6, 1971, in La Puente, Calif., she married Richard F. "Mick" Harding Jr., who died Sept. 6, 2012. Darrel R. Grindle, 81 years old, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, in his Warsaw home while surrounded by his loving family. Darrel was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Pierceton. He was the only son of Albertis D. and M. Frances Wood Grindle. Darrel was a 1954 graduate of Warsaw High School and, on June 9, 1963, he was married to Nadine E. Kittrell in Warsaw. Before his passing, the two would share 54 years. Darrel served with the United States Army in the National Guard and had been employed at Warsaw Foundry Inc. as a core maker and retired as the core room supervisor. At his June 2000 retirement, Darrel had worked for the foundry for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Minnie Johetta Brooks, 82, Warsaw, passed away at 3:52 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2017, in her residence. She was born Sept. 16, 1934, in East Chicago, to Johnetta Covington and Thomas Bass. She committed her life to Christ at an early age and served as an active member on Antioch Missionary Baptist Church's usher board until relocating to Warsaw in 2008. Mrs. Minnie Brooks was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Gary, class of 1952. Mrs. Minnie retired from Card-O-Links after serving 35 years, but decided that her work wasn't done yet. Minnie continued to work for the city of East Chicago as a recreational supervisor at Goodman Park until her health decided otherwise. Minnie loved her children and grandchildren immensely and loved to spend time with her family. She was very creative, spending hours painting and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and “Keno” with her family. Minnie's genuine spirit will truly be missed.
William L. Stillson, known by most as “Bill,” passed away at 10:25 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. He was 83 at the time of his passing. Born in Nappanee on Aug. 9, 1933, he was the son of Leo and Florence Beigh Stillson. Bill attended Nappanee area schools and served briefly in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged. On Dec. 14, 1952, Bill was married to the late Mary Ellen Boggs in Packerton. Together they shared 63 years and started a family that includes their two daughters, Susan and Sandy.
Mary Ann Culbertson, 85, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. Mary Ann was born Jan. 23, 1932, in Pierceton, to Ralph and Edith Haines Wertenberger. She was a 1950 graduate of Pierceton High School. Jack Culbertson and Mary Ann were joined in marriage Feb. 16, 1952, in Pierceton. They were blessed to share 65 years.
