Open Hymnsing Held At Grace Retirement Village Chapel

WINONA LAKE – All are invited to an open hymnsing at the Grace Retirement Village chapel in Winona Lake  at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Bill Schaffer will be at the organ, Rich Dick will be at the piano and a special feature will be the dedication of new Celebration hymnals for the Grace Village chapel.



Group To Participate In

National Day Of Prayer

MENTONE – The community is invited May 4 at 7 a.m. as the Breakthrough Prayer Group will be hosting a time of prayer around the Big Egg in the parking lot next to Mentone United Methodist Church, 116 E. Main St., Mentone. People are invited to join as the church participates in the National Day of Prayer. (If the weather is bad, the church will meet inside the church’s Fellowship Hall.)



Claypool UMC To Hold Retirement Party For Pastor Nelson

CLAYPOOL – Claypool United Methodist Church, 302 E. Section St., Claypool, will hold Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and church services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday

Devotion group is every Wednesday 4:45 p.m.

A retirement party for Pastor Nelson will be from 10 to 10:25 a.m. after Sunday school and before church services Sunday.

Sunday will be a Sunday of reminiscing and remembering.

Beaver Dam Community Church

To Hold Worship Service

AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Java Jacks in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.

On Saturday, the BDW Brunch "Quilting Forever - Housework Never" is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron. "Ladies Day at the Range" at the Harrolds' Range at 1 p.m.  

On Sunday, worship is at 9 a.m. and 10:31 a.m. with refreshments served between services. The sermon is by Pastor Butch Troke. It is birthday Sunday.  Youth boys and girls Bible studies are at Akron from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On Monday, the 4-H meeting is at 7 p.m.  

On Wednesday, youth group is at Akron from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On  May 5,  "Never 2 Young" for Middle School Youth is leaving at 4:45 from Akron.

On May 6, Wheels on Fire Cancer Crusaders "Clay's for Cancer" at the Fulton County Gun Club at 10 a.m.

Gearhart To Present Message

MENTONE – Mentone United Methodist Church, 116 E. Main St., Mentone, invites the community to join them Sunday for worship service beginning at 10:15 a.m. where Pastor Emily Gearhart presents the message “Jesus the Good Shepherd.”

The walking group the “Walkie Talkies” (formerly She Shoes) will be walking at 9 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Mentone Cemetery, weather permitting. This is for men and women and all speeds of walkers.

Every Wednesday at Java Jacks at 9 a.m. is One Accord, a women’s a Bible study.

Feast & Fellowship and youth group meet each Wednesday at 6 p.m. A light meal is provided with informal praise and worship along with something for the children and youth following the meal.

Stellar - Shine Jesus’ Light Vacation Bible School 2023 will be held June 19-22 from 6 to 8 p.m. It is for ages 3 (potty trained) through fifth grade (grade completed). Registration will begin May 10 at vbspro.events/p/mumcvbs2023.

The church offers an early bird adult Sunday school class at 8:45 a.m. They are studying the men and the women of the Bible. At 10:15 a.m., along with worship service, the church offers Sunday Bible school for children ages 5 through fifth grade and Wee Kids Worship for ages newborn to 4 years old.
