Self Defense, Part 2

Editor, Times-Union:
The following is the second part of my letter on Freedom of Self Defense as part of my series of letters of fundamental human rights. The first part of my letter, which was printed in the Jan. 24 edition of the Times-Union, listed those rights and why this particular right along with the Second Amendment are just as important as all the others.
This part of my letter will include the first part of a reference list for those readers of the Times-Union that would like to do further research on the related topics of gun control, Second Amendment, democide, nonviolent resistance, the consent of the governed, etc. I will make a serious effort to give a fair, balanced and comprehensive reading list. Most of the books in the first part of this list can be found at the Warsaw Community Public Library.
Freedom of Self-Defense is the inalienable right of each person, whether alone or with others, to peacefully, openly, freely and with respect for legitimate laws and the rights of others to decide for one’s self what proper measures, whether being nonviolent resistance or armed resistance, or a combination of the previously mentioned, are necessary in order to protect one’s life, health, property, liberty, family, community and country from harmful actions perpetrated by common criminals, crime syndicates, private armies of warlords, domestic tyrants and foreign invaders, and for each person to be free from the suppression of such measures and the wholesale disarmament of the general public by any part or whole of any local, state, regional, national, continental or world government.
