Brueggeman Named New Soccer Coach
NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester University Director of Athletics Rick Espeset announced Friday that Corey Brueggeman has been elevated to head men’s soccer coach.
Brueggeman had served as the top assistant to former head coach Dave Good for three years. Prior to becoming an assistant coach, he worked with the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer in their marketing and promotions department after graduating with a degree in sport management from Manchester in May 2012. Brueggeman also has coaching experience with the Fort Wayne Sport Club.

Manchester Outlasts Northfield 65-55 In TRC Play
SPEICHERVILLE – Chase Fierstos scored 36 points, clearing the 1,000-point mark for his career, in Manchester’s 65-55 win over Northfield in Three Rivers Conference play Thursday night.
Fierstos hit four three-point shots and 14 free throws in the game. David McAtee added 10 points and Koehl Fluke nine for the Squires.

Wildcats Take Down North Miami, 71-51
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko had four players in double figures, and junior Nate Walpole recorded a double-double in the Wildcats’ 71-51 win over North Miami in a Three Rivers Conference game Thursday night.
Sophomore River West led Whitko with 16 points, and Walpole had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Warsaw’s Brenna Morgan and Delaney Wihebrink won two races each, with Lauren Kuhl and Laurel Moeller claiming top seeds as well at the Warsaw Girls Swimming Sectional preliminaries Thursday.
Tippecanoe Valley advanced two swimmers as did Manchester.

Warsaw gynmasts Remi Beckham, Anna Wainscott and Hayler Campbell placed 1-2-3 in the all-around competition in the Lady Tigers’ 94.35-65.10 win over Marion in a dual meet Wednesday evening.

Whitko Advances With 65-34 Sectional Win Over Bremen
ALBION – Whitko had four players in double figures, led by Aly Reiff’s 17 points, in the Lady Wildcats’ 65-34 win over Bremen at the Central Noble 2A Sectional Tuesday night.
The win was the 18th on the year for Whitko (against six losses), eclipsing the school record for wins in a season set by the 2007-08 team.

Manchester Falls to Oak Hill 45-34
ROCHESTER – Senior Tiffany Johnson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in her final game as Manchester dropped a 45-34 decision to Oak Hill in the Rochester 2A Sectional Tuesday night.
The Lady Squires trailed by 12 points at halftime, and weren’t able to mount a comeback.
“(It was a) tough shooting night,” Manchester head coach Jacob Everett said. “The girls played extremely hard, especially our senior, Tiffany Johnson.”

Lady Trojans Fall After North Miami Comeback
CULVER – Triton’s girls basketball season came to an end at the Culver Community 1A Sectional when North Miami mounted a comeback to beat the Lady Trojans 31-29 Tuesday night.
North Miami’s Riley Saddlemire banked in a shot with 2.5 seconds remaining to give the Lady Warriors their only lead of the night.
