Wildcats Shut Out Squires
It was chilly and breezy for Homecoming Night at Whitko High School, but it was not enough to keep the Wildcats from putting on a show.
Junior quarterback Garrett Elder unofficially accounted for 300 yards on the ground as the Wildcats improved to 3-4 overall (2-3 TRC) in grand fashion with a 35-0 win over rival Manchester.

Manchester Tennis Team Rolls To First-Round Sectional Win
Manchester’s tennis team got wins in both doubles matches and at No. 1 singles to win its first-round sectional match 3-2 over Wabash Wednesday in Peru.
Squire senior Max Karg rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Taylor Vigar at No. 1 singles, and the No. 1 doubles duo of seniors Noah Cain and Matthew Pegg had little trouble in their straight-set win. At No. 2 doubles, junior Heath Dierks and freshman Luke Donathan earned the match-deciding win for the Squires.

Whitko Girls Soccer Shuts Out Peru In TRC Action
Whitko had five different players score goals in a 5-0 girls soccer win over Peru Monday evening.
Senior Mikayla Findley opened the scoring, then classmates Emily Jones and Alexis Fortman followed, the latter on an assist from Riley Insley.
Juniors Insley and Abby Overmeyer closed out the scoring for the Lady Wildcats. Senior goalkeeper Ilyssa Bennett was credited with a pair of saves.

Manchester Girls XC Wins Division At Culver Academies Invite
Manchester’s Rae Bedke finished first in the girls closed division race, and the Lady Squires placed five runners in the top 20 to win the division championship at the Culver Academies Invitational Saturday, outdistancing runner-up Morgan Township 63-117. Bedke completed the distance in 20:29, 24 seconds faster than the second-place runner, Tri-County’s Emily Ewen.
