Several hundred people recently attended the fifth annual Block Party hosted by the Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. The event was held on church grounds and included games, music, food, prizes and pony rides. The Block Party serves as a fall kick off for the AWANA program and other children's ministries of the church.

Three 1985 graduates of Warsaw Community HIgh School, Kelly Haas, Carla York and Krista Gunther, will be joining the freshman class at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, this fall. Patricia Young, who graduated last year, will be returning for her second year at BYU.

Miss Pat Severns, queen of the 1960 Bourbon Flower Show, was crowned by her predecessor, Miss Anita Young. Miss Severns was elected on ballots cast by visitors to the show in the art hall at the Bourbon Fairgrounds. Top prize for exhibitors went to Mrs. Zolah Long. Queen candidates took part in a parade and talent program A total of 444 guests registered at the flower show.

David Poor returned to Lafayette, where he is a student at Purdue University. Mr. Poor has spent his summer vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Poor, Warsaw. He was accompanied by Mrs. Giles Hoffer, Miss Evelyn Ettinger and Miss Ruth Zimmerman, who spent the afternoon at Lafayette.
