Police Beat Syracuse Residents Injured In Crash
PIERCETON - A 15-year-old girl driving on a learner's permit was involved in a single-car accident Saturday that landed her mother in the hospital.
According to a report from the Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team, Mikala Perzanowski, 15, North Acorn Street, Syracuse, was driving on her learner's permit. Perzanowski stated she was attempting to take her coat off when she lost control of the Ford Taurus she was driving.
The car eventually hit a tree just off Old 30, west of Brailler Road near Pierceton.
Perzanowski was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where she was treated and released with minor injuries.
The mother of the driver, Tiffany Oglesbee, 41, North Harrison Street, Syracuse, was taken to KCH then air lifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, with undisclosed injuries. As of this morning, she was listed in serious condition.
Kayla Courtney, 15, EMS D 22B Lane, Syracuse, a passenger in the back seat of the car, also was taken to KCH and air lifted to Parkview with possible internal injuries. Her condition was unavailable.
The crash remains under investigation.

Details Revealed In Friday Night Fatal
A Warsaw man died Friday night after he allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign.
According to the Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team, Wade S. Himes, 34, Warsaw, was westbound in his 1993 Cadillac Eldorado when he failed to yield at the intersection of Ind. 15 and CR 400S.
His vehicle collided with a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Bert A. Hyde, 17, Warsaw.
Hyde suffered minor injuries in the collision and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where he was treated and released.
Himes was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision remains under investigation by the FAC Team.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police, Claypool Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department, Multi-Township EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office assisted at the scene.
