The annual Lincoln Highway garage sales will be Saturday in downtown Warsaw.
Several community groups and individuals will have booths on the courthouse lawn and downtown sidewalks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Downtown Warsaw merchants will feature sidewalk sales or special "in-store" promotions. Warsaw Community Public Library will hold a yard sale featuring books and other items from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The annual Lincoln-Buy Way event crosses Indiana and Ohio with garage sales, celebrations and other activities along the original and 1928 route of the highway.
The Lincoln Highway was the vision of Carl Fisher, who built the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Fisher dreamed of developing a road that would tie America's two coasts together.
The first "Coast to Coast" road began construction in 1913 when the Lincoln Highway Association was formed.
Warsaw became a part of the route when some changes were made in the mid 1920s in order to offer a more direct route through Indiana.
The Kosciusko County Highway Committee recently began an effort to replace some of the aging Lincoln Highway signs that mark the route of the Lincoln Highway in Kosciusko County.
