Applications For Self-Reliance Awards Being Accepted Now

Staff Report

Beauchamp & McSpadden and Warsaw Rotary Club once again team up to offer the Beauchamp & McSpadden Self-Reliance Awards to local graduating seniors.

The Warsaw Rotary Club is accepting applications from eligible students for the Beauchamp & McSpadden Self-Reliance Awards. The Warsaw Rotary Club administers the application and selection process for this awards program, which is sponsored by Beauchamp & McSpadden. To be eligible to apply for this award, students must be graduating seniors from either Warsaw Community High School or Lakeland Christian Academy.

The purpose of the Beauchamp & McSpadden Self-Reliance Award is to recognize and reward high school seniors who have persevered through difficult situations in their life to receive their high school diploma. Applications are available in the WCHS and LCA guidance counselor offices and must be returned there by Feb. 18.

Eight applicants will be selected as finalists to receive awards. Of the eight finalists, there will be a first-place and second-place finalist who will receive $1,000 and $500 respectively. The other six finalists will receive $250 each. All eight finalists also will receive an attractive desk award plaque.

The checks and plaques will be presented to the students at a special awards luncheon at the Ramada 2517 facility on April 18. City business and government leaders, Rotarians and school administrators will be in attendance to recognize and congratulate the students.

The monetary awards, plaques and luncheon are provided by Beauchamp & McSpadden, an independent insurance agency in Warsaw, that has been in business in the community since 1981.
