August 14 1997

    Damien T. Brunetto, 16, son of Jack and Jayne Brunetto, Warsaw, will represent the Rotary Club District 6540 as a foreign exchange student in Aanekoski, Finland.

Brunetto, who is sponsored by Warsaw Rotary Club, will attend Aanekoski Senior High School for the 1997-98 year. He will attend a one-week language camp in Karkku, Finland, upon his arrival and then go to his first host family.

    Winning the Warsaw Little League major league tournament were the Cubs. Team members are Beau Bricker, Matt Harman, Mike Lowman, David Hepler, Kevin Thompson, Kim Long, J.R. Dobbins, Paul Wiley, Brent Grose and Doug Whitaker. Their coach is Larry Long and assistant coach is Steve Hepler.

August 14 1957

    Jacquelene Stidham, of Mentone, graduated with honors from Parkview Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Fort Wayne.

One of three award winners, Stidham was the recipient of the Marie Kolter award, given to the student who exhibits the greatest effort toward self-forgetfulness as determined by graduate nurses and hospital personnel.

August 14 1932

    Beautiful dahlias, the largest we have ever seen, measuring more than eight inches across, in all colors and hues and mixture of colors, were exhibited in this office from the gardens of Mrs. Eugene B. Cowie, of 233 Cook St.
