Jane and Jeff Hunn, teachers from Tippecanoe Valley School Corp., attended the National Science Teachers Association 45th national convention April 4-6 in New Orleans, La. Jane Hunn presented two sessions on hands-on science during the convention.

Leo Pfister, president of the Warsaw Rotary Club, has announced the selection of seniors Scott Sand and Steve Brenneman from Warsaw Community High School, to attend the 36th annual World Affairs Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Five students with straight A records led the Pierceton High School honor roll for the fourth grading period.
The top five are Ina Van Dine, senior; Diane Gebert, sophomore; Linda Caudill and Janet Danner, freshmen; and Beth Coble, eighth-grader.

Business men of Mentone, having purchased a tract of land, vested the title in a newly organized corporation so that the grounds may be used permanently as a public play and baseball grounds. Tennis courts, a regulation ball diamond and two small indoor size ball diamonds will be laid out. The newly organized Mentone ball club is planning on dedicating the grounds soon with a baseball game against the Warsaw Eagles. "Dobbs" Miller, who used to play years ago with Mentone and with the old Warsaw Maroons, is promoting the Mentone Club. He has a young son who is a promising infielder who will be seen in the Mentone line-up.
