A Warsaw man appeared for an initial hearing this morning after being charged with two counts of child molesting following a 2009 incident.
Terren Raphael, 23, of 2411 W. CR 250S, No. 62, Warsaw, requested a public defender during the hearing and Superior Court Judge Duane Huffer entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.
Raphael is ordered to appear for a status conference in the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office July 21 and again for a pre-trial conference Aug. 25.
Warsaw Police were called to the Indiana Department of Child services earlier this month after receiving a complaint from staff at Warsaw Community Schools. After an investigation, police found that in the summer of 2009, then-18-year-old Raphael sexually molested an 11-year-old girl in Warsaw.
The now-15-year-old victim told police she was threatened at the time of the alleged incidents by Raphael to not tell anyone.
Raphael was booked on two counts of Class B felony child molesting with a victim under 14.
Class B felonies are punishable by six to 20 years imprisonment and fines up to $10,000.
