A Warsaw man was arrested Thursday after allegedly having an inappropriate sexual encounter with a young girl.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, an officer met with the young girl’s mother who advised on July 29, that Mariano Sanchez Medina, 23, Warsaw, had molested her daughter.
The woman told police Medina was at her residence and asked her if he could watch a movie in her bedroom. When she later entered the bedroom to check on him, she told police she witnessed her daughter, who is under the age of 14, jump off the bed, pulling her pants up, and Medina wearing only boxer shorts.
The woman told police she then spoke with her daughter about what had occurred and her daughter told her Medina had behaved and spoken inappropriately. The woman also told police that in May of this year, she walked into the living room and observed Medina touching her daughter inappropriately. She said Medina begged her not to call police.
An officer spoke with the young girl who told police Medina was trying to have sex with her and caused her pain. She told police when her mother entered the room, both she and Medina got off the bed. The girl also told police Medina had tried to have sex with her in May.
Medina admitted to the officer he was on the bed with the young girl.
Medina was arrested and charged with child molesting and held on a $6,000 bond.
