AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley High School Tuesday announced its valedictorian and salutatorian for the graduating class of 2014.
Valedictorian is Kelsey Ball. The daughter of Joseph and Lena Ball, she plans to attend Indiana University Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business and double major in finance and accounting.
She has been an active leader serving in the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy, National Honor Society, Key Club, Sunshine Society, Challenge Leaders and prom committee. She has received awards for her involvement in TVHS athletics such as volleyball, basketball and tennis.
Salutatorian is Nolan Sponseller. The son of Bryan and Lisa Sponseller, he will be attending Taylor University this fall to study developmental economics with a minor in accounting or finance. He plans to run track at Taylor as well.
His career goals include serving with a non-profit business field. He is a 2014 Lilly Endowment Scholar.
He has been an active leader serving with Phish (Dekko Foundation), Kosciusko Endowment Youth Services, student council, Habitat for Humanity, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy, 4-H, prom committee, Key Club and FFA.
He has received awards for his involvement in TVHS athletics such as football and track.
According to a press release from TVHS, the 2014 Top 10 include Diana Baca, Shelby Baker, Ball, Robyn Dunnuck, Uyen Nguyen, Elizabeth Shepherd, Benjamin Shriver, Sponseller, Joshua Tucker, Joshua Warren and Ericka Webb.
Senior breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. June 2 in the TVHS auxiliary gym.
Senior awards ceremony is at 8:30 a.m. June 2 in the TVHS varsity gym.
Graduation is June 8 also in the varsity gym. Doors open at 1 p.m., with the baccalaureate at 2 p.m. and commencement at 2:45 p.m.
