A Claypool man was arrested on a warrant for battery Sunday following a February incident.
According to an affidavit filed by the Kociusko County Prosecutor’s office, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy responded to a report of battery in the 6600 block of West CR 500S, Claypool, on Feb. 8. On arrival, the deputy found a male subject with blood on his face, arms and shirt. The officer also observed blood on the floor in the living room and a pool of blood on the kitchen floor inside the residence.
The victim told the officer that his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child brought Ricky Allen Wright II, 19, Claypool, and another male subject to his residence to discuss Wright using pills in front of the victim and woman’s child.
The victim said Wright came to his door and wanted him to come outside. When the victim refused, Wright allegedly grabbed the door and forced himself inside the residence and punched the victim in the face, knocking him down. The victim said the second subject began kicking him in the abdomen while he was still on the floor.
The woman began screaming and the men then left the residence.
She later told police she had driven the two men to the victim’s residence then went inside and observed the fight in progress and began yelling.
The victim was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital to be treated for a bruised abdomen, lacerations to his face and a broken nose.
Wright was arrested Sunday on a warrant stemming from the February beating and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in serious bodily injury – aggravated assault, and held on a $10,000 bond.
