Parents of YMCA summer campers were notified Thursday via mail that a teenaged camper allegedly touched two other campers inappropriately over their clothing.
“At the YMCA, the safety and well-being of children in our care is our top priority,” wrote Kosciusko County YMCA CEO Chad Zaucha in the letter to parents. “We take allegations of this nature very seriously.”
The teenaged camper has been removed from the program.
In an official statement, Zaucha said, “Per our protocols, we removed the teenaged camper from the program immediately and reported what we know to the Indiana Department of Child and Family Services. Questions about an investigations of the allegations should be directed to DCFS.”
As of this morning, no allegations have been brought to police attention.
