Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Board approved three license renewals Thursday, two with violations.
Maxie’s Restaurant, Syracuse, and Oswego Mini Mart, Leesburg, had each been fined for underage sale during visits by state excise officers. Board members renewed each liquor license after hearing from the owners.
Lorena Carlson, Maxie’s, said it was their only violation in 28 years of business, and that they had no problems during three followup visits since the April 2013 incident. She also said the server who made the sale has been recertified.
Vikkie Spurgeon-Shaw, with the Mini Mart, said the clerk who made the underage sale is no longer with the company.
Also Thursday, the board renewed the license for The Old Train Depot, Pierceton.
