Our Father’s House is gearing up for its annual “Back To School Saturday” where youth can receive free clothing and school supplies.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9 at Our Father’s House, 401 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
The program has been in existence since 2001, according to Roz Morgan, Our Father’s House founding director.
Last year there were 450 to 500 families served, she said.
Besides free school supplies, those preschool to high school age will receive five pairs of clothing and free new underwear and socks.
Our Father’s House purchases the school supplies and also accepts donations from the community.
School supply donations can be dropped off at Our Father’s House Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Needed items include backpacks, lined paper, colored pencils, crayons, protractors, rulers and glue.
“When children go back to school they should all be equal, and it is hard for a little child who does not have crayons and the colored pencils that singles them out,” Morgan said. “The last thing you want to be is the kid who doesn’t  have school supplies.”
