Editor, Times-Union:
We recently found out that our first fired-up campaign was a great success thanks to the power of the many letters we all wrote in support of Dr. Goksel. Dr. Goksel will be staying on at the Cancer Care Center for another five years. Now, friends, we need to work together to get our community and its cancer and blood disorder patients to return and to support our outstanding oncologists.
To the people whose doctors will want to refer you to Goshen, Fort Wayne or Indianapolis: We plead with you to push back a little and to ask your doctor to give you the opportunity to meet with Dr. Goksel in order to see if you agree that his approach to cancer care is personalized and superior.
To the patients that have already been sent to Goshen, Fort Wayne or Indianapolis to receive their treatments: We appeal to you to consider transferring your remaining treatments to our Cancer Care Center. We need you to consider this in order to show Dr. Goksel and the center that we want, need and will support them in our community. Call the center to discuss the possibility of transferring your care back to our community Cancer Care Center. I recognize how difficult the challenge might be to change treatment in the middle of a treatment plan, but please consider.
If you cannot currently change back to our local Cancer Care Center, please at least consider writing, calling or stopping by the Cancer Care Center to voice your support for this local resource.
To those past patients of Dr. Goksel that did not take the time to write previously, please consider writing a letter to our community to explain why Dr. Goksel’s care is excellent and worthy of our local support. Our community and physicians will be persuaded by your experience.
We need your help. Please show your support.
