Editor, Times-Union:
As former District 22 state representative, later District 9 state senator, in the Indiana General Assembly, I wholehearted concur with Rev. Lowe’s recent letter to the editor regarding his opposition to allow government to regulate government church outreach ministries in Indiana.
In all of my years in the legislature we found this simply an overreach of government into the activities of daycare centers in their much needed services to local communities and their church members. Any violations were appropriately addressed without additional statutory enactment.
Do contact your Senators on HB 1036 and let your voice be heard. State senators and most representatives will listen and respect your opinion from you who elect them.
Those of us in elective office serve a public trust. It is your well being we represent.
