Editor, Times-Union:
Even though I despise both political parties I would like to comment. This last insane finance fiasco put the icing on the cake.
As a tactic, all the Republicrats had to do since the health bill is law was to say OK, sit back and let it fall of its own accord. That is unless they fear it will work. If it falls on its own accord the Republicrats could pick up all the marbles, and if it doesn’t the Republicrats ratings couldn’t be any worse than they are already.
As far as paying off the national debt, it’s impossible and smart money knows it. The interest is all they want anyway.
They just keep kicking the can down the road until the interest payment surpasses the GNP.
Then it’s lights out and new landlords will move in.
