Editor, Times-Union:
The Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation welcomed its fourth class of Tippecanoe Valley High School Distinguished Alumni on Sept. 12 and 13 by inducting seven new members into the Class of 2013.
These two very special days were made possible by the efforts of many, including the members of the TVHS Distinguished Alumni Committee (Angie Miller, Blaine Hartzler, Chrissy Mills, Kirk Doehrmann, Scott Smith, Stephanie Bibler and Tabitha Floor) who planned and conducted the TVHS Distinguished Alumni Dinner and Induction Day activities.  Head Cooks Shelly Holloway and Dora Maish and their staffs prepared a delicious meal for the TVHS Distinguished Alumni Dinner.  Members of the TVHS Student Council, under the leadership of Cami Shriver and Crystal Heckaman, graciously served Thursday evening’s dinner and acted as student liaisons to the inductees throughout the Induction Day activities.  Table linens provided by Wildman Uniform and Linen added a special touch to the formal event.  Individual interviews, conducted by local radio personality, Rita Price, allowed the guests to meet and learn more about the individual inductees.  Each inductee also introduced and spoke about a Valley K-12 educator(s) that made a significant impact on his/her life.  Tippecanoe Valley Middle School Principal Blaine Conley and Head Custodian Helen Owens were most gracious in hosting the dinner.
Local journalist Ann Allen composed the nicely written biography of each inductee. The professional audio presentations of the inductees read aloud at halftime of the game were completed by TVHS graduate and media specialist Greg McCleese.  Thank you to TVSC Interim Director of Technology Keith Lang for executing the playing of the audio presentations.
Thank you to Rochester Telephone Company’s Dee Brown for recording the individual inductee interviews that will be broadcast at a later date on RTC’s local cable television station – Channel 4
Special thanks go to TVHS Principal Kirk Doehrmann and the TVHS staff for providing a unique learning experience for the school’s students by allowing them the opportunity to meet and learn about the careers and lives of the inductees.
The Class of 2013 features outstanding graduates of Tippecanoe Valley High School who have gone on to lead successful lives while making substantial contributions to their chosen field of work or have provided outstanding service to their community, state or country.
The Tippecanoe Valley community can be very proud of the quality education it provides for its youth.  The Class of 2013 is a vivid example of what can be accomplished by the graduates of Tippecanoe Valley High School.
