Viola Alice Jones Zorn, 84, Pierceton, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 5 a.m. Aug. 25, 2014, at her residence.
She was born March 12, 1930, in Kewanee, Ill., to Andrew Frank and Lula Vernice Hand Jones. On Oct. 26, 1946, she married Chester S. Zorn, who survives in Pierceton.
She was the seventh of nine children. She moved to Pierceton in January 1947. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 29. She was a lifetime member of the Warsaw Church of God, where she served as a Sunday and Bible school teacher. She was a lifetime member of the Pierceton American Legion Post #258 and Warsaw VFW Post #1126. She served as president of the auxiliary for six years in both and as a District 2 color bearer. Being a seamstress, she did her home decorating and sewing.
Also surviving are three sons: Chester II (and spouse Karen) Zorn, North Webster; Randal (and companion Jeanie) Zorn, Warsaw; Richard Zorn, Pierceton; three daughters: Sharon (and spouse Tom) Swartz, and Kathy (and spouse Pat) Stevens, all of Warsaw; Kimberly (and spouse Nicholas) Heinold, Pierceton; a brother-in-law, Jack (and spouse Sue) Zorn, Elkhart; several nieces and nephews; and a special angel, Sandy Zartman. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sons, a grandson, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Warsaw Church of God with Pastor Jerry Yoder officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
