COLUMBIA CITY – Ronald E. Neeley, 73, Warsaw, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Aug. 8, 2014, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 31, 1940, in Utica, Pa., to Hiram J. and Cora M. Deets Neeley. On Aug. 17, 1963, in Marion, he married the love of his life and best friend, Jacqueline L. Magers, his wife of over 50 years, who survives.
He graduated from Meadville High School with the Class of 1958, and attended Erie Commercial College for two years before moving to Marion to attend Indiana Wesleyan for the next three years. In 1974 he and his family moved to the Warsaw area. He was the owner and president of New Beginnings Nutrition in Warsaw. He was a member of Warsaw Community Church, Friend of Bill W. and the 24 Hour Club.
He also is survived by five children: Ronda J. (and spouse Steven) Holloway, Rochester; Steve M. (and spouse Melanie) Neeley, Fort Wayne; Mark A. (and Bridget Swick) Neeley, Warsaw; Jacqueline M. “Shelley” (and spouse Gary) Kunkle, North Webster; Christopher T. (and spouse Robin) Neeley, South Whitley; three sisters: Donna Meeks, Shipshewana; Carol Bollinger, Valencia, Pa.; Ruth Hall, Indianapolis; a brother, Paul Neeley, Shipshewana; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: William, Fred, Dale, Elwood and Allen Neeley; a sister, Georgia Hogg; and a granddaughter, Audry N. Neeley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Warsaw Community Church, 1855 S. County Farm Road. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
