MOORESVILLE – Richard Ray Miller, 73, Camby, died peacefully July 27, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis.
He was born Sept. 26, 1940, in Warsaw, to Ira Ray and Elva Oznola Montel Miller. On March 12, 1983, he married Cheryl Reasor Miller, who survives.
He graduated from Silver Lake High School and attended International Business College in Fort Wayne. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. While living in Fort Wayne, he owned a Sunoco Service Station. He was a resident of Fort Myers, Fla., for 17 years, where he was a volunteer deputy with the Collier County Sheriff’s Department. Most recently, he was the facilities and grounds director at Mt. Gilead Christian Church, Mooresville. He will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
Also surviving are three children: Shelley Lynn Miller (and Arthur Nicholas Gerth Jr.), Portage, Mich., and Randall Ray Miller, all of Portage, Mich.; Valerie Lynn (and spouse Joseph W. III) Chaille, Carmel; two siblings, Toni R. (and spouse Terry) Ayres, Leesburg; and Robert R. (and spouse Patricia) Miller, Greenfield; three grandchildren: Nicholas (and spouse Amber) Gerth III, Fishers;  Amanda (and spouse Shawn) Walker, LaGrange; Sophia Chaille, Fishers; and three great-grandchildren: Brooke, Lucas and Noah. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Loren Buck; and brother, Randall Ray Miller.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Gilead Christian Church, 6019 E. Ind. 144, Mooresville, with the Rev. Jeff Faull officiating.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
