COLUMBIA CITY — Norma Jean Gray, 85, formerly of Columbia City, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, where she had been a resident since 2003.

She was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Noble County, a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Bernice Skeels Gray. Her formative years were spent in Kimmell. She graduated from Cromwell High School in 1952.

Following her graduation, she had lived in Etna, Coesse and for more than 25 years, Columbia City.

She began her work career with Kidd’s Marshmallows in Ligonier and then Weatherhead, Columbia City. She retired from Dana/Weatherhead with over 27 years of service.  

She was a member of the Church of God, Plymouth.

She is survived by two brothers, Joe A. Gray, Syracuse, and Jerry E. Gray, Columbia City.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth L. Gray and Larry L. Gray; and a sister, Patsy (Ed) McClure.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
