COLUMBIA CITY – Michael R. Hoppus, 59, Columbia City, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 9, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born March 10, 1955, in Warsaw, to Robert and Doreathea Smith Hoppus. On Dec. 31, 1992, he married Shelia Brown, who survives.
He worked seven years for the Warsaw Street Department, seven years for the Warsaw Wastewater Treatment Facility and then for Leesburg Tractor Parts. He loved fishing, hunting, boating and watching all types of racing. He collected Coleman lanterns.
Also surviving are two children, Bobby Hoppus, Galveston, Texas, and Amber (and spouse Evan) Morgan, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one grandson, Wyatt Morgan; four siblings: Nancy Webster, Washington, D.C.; Cynthia Fiedeke, Warsaw; Mark Hoppus, Milford; Eddie (and spouse Lisa) Hoppus, Packerton; nine nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, with Pastor Byron Kaiser officiating. A private cremation committal will be at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
