BOURBON – Larry D. Fretz Sr., 74, Etna Green, passed away Aug. 25, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 27, 1940, in Warsaw, to Russell and Ruth Mellott Fretz.
He has been a lifelong resident of the area. He was an avid sports enthusiast, collecting many sports team memorabilia. He had worked at Uniroyal in Warsaw for 38 years as a shipping and receiving manager. He was a member of the Moose and Eagles lodges, both of Warsaw, and was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School. He will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are three children: Suzetta Howard, Nappanee; and Kurt and Jeffrey Fretz, both of Bremen; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Carol (and spouse Bruce) Patrick, West Lafayette; and his companion, Carolyn Ritchison, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Fretz Jr., who died Sept. 17, 1988; a grandson, Justin, who died Jan. 27, 2009; a sister, Marilyn Lozier; and a brother, David Fretz.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Summit Chapel Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon.
