SIDNEY – James K. “Jim” Elder, 52, died at 4 p.m. Aug. 20, 2014, in his residence.
He was born Feb. 1, 1962, in Columbia City, to James O. and Grace Ousley. On Dec. 28, 1990, he married Dianna “DeeDee” Prater, who survives.
He was a self-employed construction worker. He loved the outdoors, deer hunting, fishing and trapping. He had made several trips to Canada and Lake Erie to go fishing.
Also surviving are his father, James O. Elder, who survives in Warsaw; two sons, Steven (and spouse Sondra) Elder, Pierceton, and Lucas Elder, Warsaw; a brother, Kenneth (and spouse Rita) Elder, Pierceton; and a sister, Lora (and spouse Mark) Anglin, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Ousley.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at Highway 13 Free United Baptist Church, north of Sidney. Burial will be at a later date.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at the church, with Carl Adams officiating.
