LEBANON – Dewayne “Stubby” Warren, 82, Lebanon, died Aug. 12, 2014, in Greencastle.
He was born May 13, 1932, in Marshall County, to Russell Dale and Nora Adeline Hall Warren.
He was a 1950 graduate of Tippecanoe High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, stationed in Frankfort, Germany, where he drove a truck to haul food for the mess hall. He served his country honorably from 1955 to 1957.
He worked as a truck driver from the age of 15. For 34 years, he drove from Lebanon to Chicago and back, retiring in 1998. For many years, he volunteered with the Boone County Civil Defense.
A man of strong faith, he attended Roachdale Christian Church. He enjoyed traveling to various gospel music concerts with his many church friends. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Albion American Legion.
Surviving are his companion, Guinevere Lacey, Roachdale; four children: Teresa Jo (and spouse Douglas) Rhoades-Kittrell, Columbia City; Rusty Lee (and spouse Delma) Warren, Lebanon; Lisa Diane Joy, Pierceton; Anna Christine (and spouse Larry) Reed, Zionsville; eight grandchildren: Ryan and Josh Rhoades; SaraBeth and Alandra Warren; Chris and Casey Joy; Donnie Campbell; and  Brandon Reed; six great-grandchildren: two brothers, Welcome (and spouse Janet) Warren, Bourbon, and Jesse (and spouse Betty) Warren, Knoxville, Tenn.; three sisters: Catherine Poole, Warsaw; and Ilene Bessinger and Esther Burger, both of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Warren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Burial with miliary rites will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Boone County.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
