ROANN – David A Barrett, 70, rural Silver Lake, died at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 22, 2014, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 3, 1943, in Kosciusko County to Herschel Dinkledein and Inez Early. After Herschel’s death, he was adopted and raised by Jewith Barrett. On July 7, 1967, in Miami County, he married Phyllis Flitcraft, who survives in Silver Lake.
He was a 1962 graduate of Claypool High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed flowers, watching the birds and squirrels, sightseeing, festivals and setting up for flea markets. He retired from Diehl Machines in Wabash.
Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Delmar Poe, Claypool, and Wanda Paris, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service – Roann, 335 S. Chippewa Rd., Roann, with Pastor Wayne Balmer officiating. Burial is in South Pleasant Cemetery, Silver Lake.
