Allie Hicks, 100, died Aug. 6, 2014, in her Sebring, Fla., home.
She was born March 8, 1914, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Riley and Donna Shepherd. On Dec. 10, 1934, in Floyd County, Ky., she married Ell Hicks, who preceded her in death June 13, 1995.
She lived most of her life in Kosciusko County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rose Hill United Baptist Church, Silver Lake.
Also surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Pyle, Sebring, Fla.; three sons: Tom (and spouse Jewell) Hicks, Warsaw; Bill (and spouse Cora) Hicks, Sebring; and Jack (and spouse Joyce) Hicks, Pierceton; two sisters, Mary Murphy and Fannie (and spouse Robert) Cozzi, all of Warsaw; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Hicks; seven brothers: Odis, Bill, Virgil, Riley, Willie, Estil and Ranel Shepherd; four sisters: Nearie Smith, Bernice Mayhugh and Ronda and Sally Shepherd; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill United Baptist Church, Silver Lake, with Elders Harold Vance and John White, Rose Hill United Baptist Church, Silver Lake, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Memorials to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in Allie’s memory.
