Strobel Tosses Gem, Leads Squires Over Norsemen

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester Squire baseball team won 3-1 against Northfield on Monday.

Manchester’s Grant Strobel pitched seven innings and struck out nine batters. He gave up three hits, walked two hitters and allowed one unearned run.

Jeremiah Airgood, Thane Creager, Kaleb Fluke, Mason Meyer and Hayes Sturtsman all had hits for Manchester. Airgood had the lone RBI for the team.

The Squires travel to Maconaquah on Wednesday.

Valley Falls To Rochester

AKRON – On Monday, the Tippecanoe Valley baseball team lost 4-1 to Rochester.

The Vikings and Zebras both had four hits in the Three Rivers Conference contest.

Valley’s Drew Hartman and Lucas Prater each had a double. Adam Myers and Payton Mills both had a hit.

The Vikings host Pioneer tonight at 5 p.m.

Panthers Blank Warriors

NAPPANEE – The Wawasee Warrior baseball team lost 7-0 at NorthWood on Monday.

Wawasee’s Jake Crousore led the team with two hits. Parker Young, Jeremiah Bess and Carter Woody each had a single.

Woody pitched 5-1/3 innings for the Warriors. He allowed three hits, one earned run and struck out five.

Wawasee hosts Northridge on Wednesday.

Burgh Hits Home Run; Tigers Roll Over Plymouth

The Warsaw baseball team won 9-4 over Plymouth on Monday.

The Tigers scored seven runs in the fourth inning to break away from a 1-1 tie. 

Warsaw’s Michael Nunez pitched 5-2/3 innings and got the win. He had three hits at the plate for the Tigers.

Noah Burgh hit a home run and a double for Warsaw.

The Tigers travel to NorthWood on Wednesday.

Dittmar Rips Home Run; Warsaw Beats Plymouth

PLYMOUTH – The Warsaw softball team won 8-3 over Northern Lakes Conference rival Plymouth. 

The Lady Tigers offense tallied 13 hits in the contest. Isabelle Dittmar had a home run in the contest and went 3 for 4.

Saylor Bradley led Warsaw with four hits. 

Courtney Chookie took the win for the Lady Tigers. She struck out four and allowed three runs, which one was earned.

Warsaw plays NorthWood on Wednesday for an NLC matchup.

Whitko Routs Peru

SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko Lady Wildcat softball team won 4-0 against Peru on Monday.

In the Three Rivers Conference contest, Ellie Snep captured the win for Whitko. She allowed three hits in seven innings. At the plate, she had a base hit.

Shi Bradley had a triple and a single. Augusta Garr and Reannon Hopkins both had two hits.

The Lady Wildcats host North Miami on Wednesday.

Lady Warriors Win In Extra Innings

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee Lady Warrior softball team won 5-4 over NorthWood on Monday in eight innings.

Wawasee scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game and then added one in the bottom of the eighth to take the Northern Lakes Conference win.

Kiaundra Olson took the win for the Lady Warriors. She pitched five innings, allowed two hits, one run and struck out four.

Graceanne Kerlin had three hits, including two doubles. She also had two RBIs in the contest.

The Lady Warriors travel to Northridge on Wednesday.

Plymouth Beats Wawasee

PLYMOUTH – The Wawasee girls tennis team lost 5-0 at Plymouth on Monday in a Northern Lakes Conference match.

Wawasee’s Elizabeth Kleopfer fell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles in the team’s closest match.

Kendra Doerr (No. 1) and Kennedy Church (No. 3) both lost 6-0, 6-0 in singles play for the Lady Warriors.

The No. 1 doubles pair of Kabrea Rostochak and Courtney Larson lost 6-0, 6-0. The No. 2 doubles duo of Brianna Haessig and Molly Jones were defeated 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets.

The Lady Warriors are back in action on Wednesday in the NLC Championships at Plymouth.

Whitko Golf Rolls Past Tippecanoe Valley

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Whitko boys golf team won 180-222 against Tippecanoe Valley on Monday.

Valley’s Cade Brouyette was the medalist with a 39. Billy Gillman shot a 54 and Bryce Madeford followed with a 59. Mason Purvis (70) and Corey Fincher (73) rounded out the golfers for the Vikings.

Whitko’s Kylar Bryant finished second at the match with a 42. Cade Bechtold followed closely with a 43. Dale Reiff shot a 47 and Kaleb Busz fired a 48 to round out the scoring for the Wildcats. Jonathan Strayer carded a 60 for Whitko.

Whitko hosts Lakeland Christian Academy and Wabash on Thursday. Valley plays at Northfield on May 15.



Drake Medals; Wawasee Defeats Bethany Christian

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee Warrior golf team won 170-182 against Bethany Christian on Monday.

Wawasee’s Dillon Drake was the medalist with a 38. He was first by four strokes.

Zach Leedy tallied second with a 42 and Luke Weisser tied for third with a 43. Evan Dippon fired a 47 and Jared Krugman shot a 50 to round out the golfers for the Warriors.

Wawasee competes against Northridge tonight for a Northern Lakes Conference match.



Tiger Golfers Win Against Plymouth, Memorial

ELKHART – The Warsaw golf team defeated Plymouth and Elkhart Memorial on Tuesday. The Tigers shot a 154, the Pilgrims finished second with a 169 and the Chargers followed with a 198.

Warsaw’s Luke Delp shot a 37 to take the medalist honors. Tommy Meier, Jacob LaLonde and Chase Byron all shot a 39. Sam Yeager carded a 45 to round out the golfers for the Tigers.

Warsaw competes at NorthWood on Thursday for an NLC match.
