BOURBON — Opening the season at home against Peru Wednesday night, the Triton girls tennis team suffered a 5-0 loss.
In the sweep, Triton’s closest match was at No. 1 singles, where Kaelyn Mason dropped the opening set to Madison Deneston 6-0, but took the second 6-3.
However, the final set, Deneston got a 6-3 victory, finishing off the 5-0 score for the Lady Tigers.
The 0-1 Lady Trojans return to the courts Monday at Knox for a Northern State Conference match.
