GOSHEN — The Wawasee girls track and field team finished third in the Class A Division of Saturday’s Goshen Relays, while the Whitko Lady Wildcats were fourth in Class B.
Goshen won Class A with 90 points and Wawasee tallied 75, as the 4x200 relay of Leigh-Ann Shrack, Skylar Janda, Sarah Lancaster and Catherine Yankosky got first-place with a time of 1:51.7.
In Class B, Fairfield was the champion with 79 points and Whitko posted 61, as freshman Kaitlyn Reed set a meet record by clearing 5-2 at high jump.
Whitko and North Miami will be at Tippecanoe Valley today and Wawasee’s next meet is the Northern Lakes Conference Championships Tuesday at Warsaw.

Thursday in Bourbon
The Triton girls track and field team picked up a Northern State Conference win Thursday at home, defeating LaVille 82-75. The Lakeland Christian Academy girls also participated, scoring four points. For Triton Jaela Meister won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, while Katie Lenker finished first in the long jump and 100. Triton will be at Wednesday’s NSC Championships at John Glenn.

The seventh-ranked Carmel squad won the tournament with a 297, followed by No. 2 Westfield’s 303 and Lebanon’s 313. The Warsaw Tigers finished with a 328, led by Jonny Hollar’s 77. Led by Daniel Zawlocki’s 77 at Wabash’s Honeywell Golf Course, the Whitko boys golf team finished eighth at Saturday’s Northfield Invitational, Oak Hill won the 10-team tournament with a 321, while Whitko finished with a 362 and Manchester was ninth with a 375. Zawlocki’s 77 on the par-71 course was the third-best score of the day and Manchester was led by Connor Eichenauer’s 82, which was tied for 12th. Whitko will host Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday at Sycamore Golf Club and Manchester’s next match is Wednesday at Etna Acres Golf Course against Southwood and Rochester.
