COLUMBIA CITY — The 2014 season kicked off for the Wawasee girls golf team Tuesday, defeating Columbia City 196-199 at Eagle Glen Golf Course.
Wawasee senior Elizabeth Jackson’s 42 was the low score on the par-36 course, followed by Columbia City’s Mackenzie Lane, who shot a 43.
Other recorded scores for Wawasee, were Mikala Mawhorter’s 48, Courtney McDaniel’s 51 and Kylee Rostochak’s 55.
The Lady Warriors were right back on the links today, traveling to the Huntington North Invitational.

Tuesday in Plymouth
Short a player, denying the team an overall score, the Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team suffered a pair of defeats Tuesday at Swan Lake in Plymouth. John Glenn won the three-team meet with a 197, followed by Northridge’s 250, while Tippecanoe Valley didn’t have a score, as Blake McBrier was unavailable for the meet. On the course, Glenn’s Anna Schmeltz was the best with a 45, while Valley’s low score was a 60, shot by Victoria Biddle. The Lady Vikings returned to Plymouth today, but headed to the Plymouth Country Club for the Plymouth Invitational.
