WINONA LAKE – It was a historic evening for Grace College’s men’s and women’s soccer teams Friday.
Playing a doubleheader of exhibition matches, the Lancers and Lady Lancers unveiled their newly-renovated stadium.
Miller Field, which was a pile of rocks when the land was developed in 1972, has undergone an extensive makeover this summer.
Among the upgrades are a new pressbox, bleachers, dugouts, scoreboard, fencing, and for the first time in program history there are lights.
Grace’s men’s team beat F.C. Indiana 2-0 in an exhibition match, while the Lady Lancers entertained the Haitian Women’s National Team, falling 4-1.
The Grace men will play their first regular season match at Miller Field on Aug. 28 against John Brown, while the Lady Lancers will host Calumet St. Joe on Aug. 23.
