Calling All High School Seniors And Sixth-Graders
School may just be ending but it’s not too early to be thinking about the new immunization requirements for the 2014-2015 school year.
Indiana State Department of Health is requiring all high school seniors to be vaccinated with a second dose of meningitis. Sixth-graders will be required to get their first dose of meningitis and also a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis) booster.
Kosciusko County Health Department’s Immunization Clinic can vaccinate students who have Medicaid coverage, are uninsured or are “underinsured” (their private health insurance does not cover the cost of vaccinations). KCHD has a walk-in clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 to noon and 1:15 to 3:30 p.m.; and an evening clinic, the first Monday of each month, 6 to 8 p.m.
Call the Health Department if you have questions at 574-267-7028.
