Debra Collier’s School of Dance was honored to have award-winning choreographer and master teacher Diane Gudat visit the studio to teach master classes in tap, jazz and modern, according to a press release from the school.
Gudat also set a production piece on the members of the studio’s non-profit dance company, Class Act Dance Troupe, as well as a contemporary duet on members of the senior troupe.
An award-winning choreographer and founder of The Dance Company in Indianapolis, Gudat is a popular faculty member of numerous conventions and competitions. She teaches throughout the United States, Canada and South Africa and was one of the coaches to the 2002 gold medal USA Tap and Showdance teams at the World Championships held in Germany.
“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with an internationally known teacher with such experience, versatility and talent,” said Deb Collier. “Her humor and energy make her a favorite of all of our students and we were excited to open these classes to all dancers in the area. It was wonderful to have some of our alumni return for her classes, too.”
Debra Collier's School of Dance has been teaching dance students in northern Indiana for over 37 years. The studio regularly hosts master teachers such as Gudat to complement the education provided to its dance students. The studio will be hosting Melissa Anderson in August for a ballet intensive.
