Each year at Pierceton Elementary fifth-grade recognition, a student is honored with the Jamie Eppleman Award. Eppleman, while a fourth-grade student at PES, was tragically killed in a car accident, along with other members of her family. She was a wonderful young girl and had many great characteristics, according to the press release from the school. She was very caring and respectful of staff and peers. She always had a smile no matter what kind of day she was having. She was careful not to judge and always put others first. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing at herself as well as laughing with others. She was always trying to improve and learn from her mistakes, the release continues. This year's award was presented to Bryce Rhodes. Pictured are Jada, Bill, Bryce and Katie Rhodes with PES Principal Nathan Polston.
