Richard “Dick” and Janie Teel, Mentone, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday.
Dick and the former Janie Newton were married June 6, 1964, at the First Baptist Church, Mentone, by Pastor Francis Rogers.
Dick retired from R.R. Donnelley and Sons in 2006 after 43 years. Janie is a homemaker and is known in the area for her many flower gardens.
They are the parents of three daughters and one son: Debra (and spouse DeWayne) Doty, Winamac; Brenda (and the late Todd) Miller, Winona Lake; Heather Teel, Kokomo; and the late Scott Teel.
They have six grandchildren:Michael, Benjamin,Sarah,Sydney, Macy and Josie; and four great-grandchildren: Dylan, Braden, Brantley and Lillian.
The couple will celebrate with a family dinner hosted by their daughters, who also planned a three-day vacation for their parents that includes a stay at a bed and breakfast on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.
